End Slavery Tennessee Launches a NEW Podcast :
“Someone Like Me”
End Slavery Tennessee provides specialized case management and comprehensive aftercare for human trafficking survivors and tactically addresses the problem through advocacy, prevention and training of front line professionals.
Survivor stories. Busted Myths. Lives Changed.
End Slavery Tennessee’s official podcast, Someone Like Me, features powerful stories of human trafficking told by those who experienced them firsthand. Someone Like Me is hosted by Leslie Eiler Thompson alongside End Slavery Tennessee’s founder, Derri Smith. On this podcast, you’ll hear real stories from actual survivors who are graduates of the End Slavery Tennessee program. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how people become human trafficking victims and the many obstacles in their recovery. You’ll also hear updates from program leaders about initiatives in this vital work and educate yourself as they dissolve common myths around human trafficking.
The purpose of this podcast is to amplify the voices of human trafficking survivors, highlight the work of End Slavery Tennessee, and shed light on the complex emotional factors that lead to trafficking and hinder recovery. I encourage you to listen to the stories.
Much of what the survivors discuss is very hard to hear and may even bring you to tears. Hopefully, it will also lead you to action.

Through my volunteer work with the Junior League of Nashville, I’m a member of the Human Trafficking Public Awareness Committee and provide trainings on behalf of End Slavery Tennessee to educate the community on the realities of Human/Sex Trafficking.
Below, I’ve included another recent way I was able to help supply some needs of this wonderful organization
End Slavery TN recently put out a call for donations of Yearly Planners to be distributed directly to survivors needing to track their many appointments. Being a person addicted to my planners and weekly schedules, I made a trip to the store to gather up several! I hope they are a blessing to those who receive them 🙂
As a Podiatrist, foot health and comfort is extremely important to me. When I was in the store buying planners, I turned around to find several pair of shoes on sale in the next aisle over!! So you know it…..I had to get them! I was able to snag almost 20 pair of the cutest shoes and booties for the survivors and hope these bless them as well 🙂
ESTN has a donation request list on their website. If you ever feel inclined to help or want to know of ways to donate and directly support the organization , here’s the link for the Ways to Give section of their website.
